Join our event: ‘Future Focus’: Staying relevant in a changing world

Don’t miss our next IMAGE Business Club networking event, where female Irish business leaders will share game-changing insights and how they adapted their businesses to stay a step ahead.

If there’s one thing certain about change, it’s that it never stops. However, change in the 2020s has proven to be at a faster pace than ever before.

In business, this means that to succeed, business owners and professionals need to stay abreast of what’s happening and create great products and opportunities to delight customers with constant innovation.

At the next IMAGE Business Club event, contributing editor Melanie Morris talks with three women who refuse to stand still, and who have plenty to share on dynamics in business, both macro and micro. As MD of An Post, and with a career with some of the world’s leading consumer brands, Debbie Byrne continues to refresh a national institution, making it a cornerstone for Irish communities; while Louise Stokes, founder and designer, Loulerie, has plenty of learned experiences around evolving and shaping a business to maximum prosperity. To add insight, Laoise Mullane, people and organisation director, PwC, will share findings from the recent PwC Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey, 2023, and how this affects future business functions.

Join us on the evening of Wednesday, October 4 at The Westbury Hotel to hear more. As always, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to connect with your IMAGE Business Club peers and the IMAGE team. We particularly encourage members to come alone, as there’s always a friendly face to meet over cocktails before and after. There will also be gift bags and surprise prizes on the night.

This is an opportunity to discover the tools to succeed, along with learning from those with experience as together, we unpack the challenges and wins in a constantly evolving world.

As the year progresses and the seasons change, join us for this chance to power up into a proactive, end-of-year mindset with plenty to inspire from our inspiring guest speakers.

Tickets are available, exclusively to IMAGE Business Club members on a first-come, first-served basis.

Schedule

6pm – 7pm: Network over Malfy & Fever-Tree cocktails and canapés
7pm – 8.30pm: An information panel discussion with our experts

Meet the speakers

Debbie Byrne, Managing Director, An Post Retail & An Post Money
MaxwellPhotography.ie

As Managing Director, Debbie Byrne leads the strategy and operations for Ireland’s largest retail network of approximately 900 post offices, taking on the challenge of transforming and re-imagining the post office network to create a more sustainable and relevant future for the network, with a focus on three growth pillars of community banking, e-commerce and new government services. She has taken the An Post brand into new areas of personal lending, credit cards, loans and travel money, successfully driving brand adoption and new revenue streams for An Post Money.

Debbie has worked across a diverse range of industries and top companies including Grand Met., Pepsi, L’Oréal, Eir and Life Style Sports in senior general management, marketing and strategic planning roles.

She is a graduate of International Marketing & Languages at DCU and INSEAD’s General Management Programme. She is chairperson of the Prize Bond Company and holds non-exec positions on the boards of One Direct Insurance, The National Lottery and Business in the Community.

Louise Stokes, Founder and Designer, Loulerie

Louise Stokes is the founder and designer of Loulerie, a Dublin-based jewellery brand that recently celebrated its 16th year anniversary. Alongside Loulerie’s online business, which ships globally, it also has a curated boutique on Chatham St, is stocked in Kildare Village alongside leading Irish designers, and is at various pop-up events in collaboration with luxury hotels around the country. Loulerie recently expanded into the lifestyle market with the launch of its own scent made in the home of perfume Grasse, France.

Before founding Loulerie, Louise spent time working for Irish designer Louise Kennedy and Brooklyn-based designer Alexis Bittar. She also spent five years working in the fine jewellery industry in New York, travelling the East Coast, meeting top industry buyers and working closely with in-house design teams.

“At Loulerie, we specialise in jewellery that celebrates the individual,” said Louise. “Every piece I have designed within the collection has been designed with people in mind. I am fascinated by the way jewellery falls on the body, how it moves and how you decide to style it. For me, the work is not complete until it is placed on the wearer, and you give it the finishing touch and flare that it needs to shine in all of its glory.”

Laoise Mullane, People and Organisation Director, PwC

Laoise Mullane is a director in the workforce team within the Advisory – Consulting division of PwC. Laoise joined the team in 2011. She has experience working across a number of different sectors including health, public sector, insurance, banking and utilities.

Laoise is passionate about working with organisations to positively impact the human experience of work. She has significant experience in large-scale transformation programmes and in helping leaders to navigate the people side of change.
