Misleór Festival of Nomadic Cultures

28 September — 1 October, Galway city

Galway Traveller Movement’s Misleór Festival celebrates and connects nomadic peoples from around the world. This year marks their fifth event, where they explore nomadic identity through the lens of creativity and cultural action for change. Celebrating diversity within nomadic communities with a vibrant programme of music, theatre, film, poetry, and visual art, Misleór welcomes everyone. Find a full programme here.

Dingle Food Festival

29 September — 1 October, Various locations around Dingle

Known locally as the Best Weekend of the Year, Dingle Food Festival sees the town come alive as guests descend on the Peninsula from across the globe for the festival weekend. Highlights of the festival include cookery demonstrations, food trails, over 50 market stalls, workshops, street entertainment, children’s events, wine tastings, and much, much more. You can also grab a ticket for ‘The Taste Trail’, on which you’ll visit over 70 venues around the town offering tastings of the best food and drink the Peninsula has to offer.

Deirdre O’Kane

29 September, 3Olympia Theatre, Dublin

There’s a point beyond burnout where all you can do is laugh, and funnywoman Deirdre O’Kane has well and truly reached it. Catch her brilliant stand-up show, Demented, at 3Olympia Theatre. One of Ireland’s favourite comedians, Deirdre never strays too far from her live stand-up roots. Speaking on her return to 3Olympia Theatre, she said; “I’m over excited to be bringing my new show Demented to 3Olympia, one of my favourite venues in the whole wide world.”

Oktoberfeis

30 September, Letterkenny & Cork

From the founders of Bingo Loco, Oktoberfeis are putting an Irish twist on the traditional Bavarian experience. Think Irish trad bands and dancers, tankards of Irish stouts and beers, authentic Irish food, DJs and an eclectic mix of entertainment and competitions across the evening. This weekend, Rake The Ashes will be at Letterkenny’s Clanree Hotel, and George Murphy & The Rising Sons will be at Cork’s Rochestown Park Hotel.

Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival 2023

Until 30 September, Lisdoonvarna, Clare

Europe’s biggest singles festival takes place every September in the small village of Lisdoonvarna on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, and you’ve still got time to join the revelry and maybe even find love before things wrap up for another year this weekend. Find out more information here.
