Ahead of Cinco de Mayo this Sunday, Don Julio hosted a celebratory event at 777 in Dublin 2 this week.
If you’re keen to find your new summer drink, might we suggest a Paloma?
Set to be the sundowner of the season, Don Julio makes theirs with their signature tequila, Poacher’s Grapefruit Soda, and lime juice, garnished with a slice of fresh grapefruit.
Keen to show the Irish just what makes it so good, the Don Julio team welcomed guests to an exclusive private dining and Paloma masterclass at 777 yesterday – the first event of many on their Irish tour which promises to bring the spirit of Mexico to cocktail enthusiasts all over the country this summer.
Lucky attendees were transported to the ‘Tierra de Don Julio’ – an immersive experience bringing the tropics of Jalisco, Mexico (where the tequila hails from) to life. Guests such as Louise Cooney and singer Erica Cody, were there on the night to celebrate, immersing themselves in the rich heritage and craftsmanship behind the brand and everything it stands for.
Drink shaker and story maker Cal Byrne, previous World Class Ireland winner and Diageo head of advocacy, was also on hand to share his expertise and demonstrate how to concoct the perfect Paloma cocktail.
Food on the night was courtesy of 777 who have become synonymous with authentic Mexican flavours, while Latino-American DJ Pablo Santos was in charge of the tunes.
Due to pop up in various venues all across the country, from Dublin to Galway, Cork to Belfast, keep an eye out for Don Julio Tequila’s summer tour in a bar near you.
