Social Pictures: Angie’s Wine & Cocktail Bar launch

Last week, Dublin 4 welcomed a new addition to the neighbourhood in the form of Angie’s Wine & Cocktail Bar.

Dry January came to an end with a flourish as a brand new wine and cocktail bar opened its doors in Ballsbridge.

When was it?

Wednesday 8 February

Where was it?

Roly’s Bistro, 7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin 4

Why were we there?

Guests gathered in Ballsbridge for the launch of Angie’s Wine & Cocktail Bar at Roly’s Bistro, the well-known restaurant which has been around for over 30 years and is synonymous with delivering outstanding food and excellent value and service to its customers.

Tullamore Whiskey Sours, Angie’s Cosmo and Hendricks Gin cocktails were enjoyed by guests as well as Laurent Perrier bubbly and a selection of Roly’s extensive wines.

Mini versions of Roly’s signature dishes were served including Dublin Bay Prawn Scampi with homemade tartare; Thai spiced corn fed chicken wontons with avocado salsa & red pepper puree; Dry aged Hereford sliders withs Smoked Dubliner cheese; mini fresh Dublin Bay Prawn Cocktails and Organic Burren Smoked salmon and Castletownbere Crab salad.

Angie’s — named after Roly’s founder John O’Sullivan’s wife Angela — will serve customers carefully crafted cocktails by Adi, and customers can also now purchase speciality and more expensive wine by the glass with new ‘by the glass’ technology that keeps opened bottles under a protected atmosphere, as if the bottle had been newly opened.

Who was there?

Among those gathered in Ballsbridge to celebrate the launch of Angie’s Wine & Cocktail Bar were Darina Coffee, Alan Hughes, Leslie Williams, Tom Doorley, Lucinda O’Sullivan, David Mitchell, Clint Drieberg, and Bairbre Power.
