On Wednesday 5 June, team IMAGE hosted a special event to help our Business Club members elevate their public speaking and communication skills.

The latest IMAGE Business Club Live networking event took place in The Westbury Hotel on Wednesday 5 June. The enlightening evening featured talks from experts on how to master speeches and presentations, enhance communication skills and discover how to make a lasting impact.

They call it a ‘soft’ skill, but public speaking can be hard… and a bit of a minefield to navigate. What’s more, there are so many reasons in modern business where we may need to address groups of people – from boardrooms to ballrooms.

Led by Rowan Manahan AKA The Presenter Mentor, we learned how to shine at pitches, make an impact in meetings, and communicate in front of large groups with confidence. We looked at presenting on virtual calls and overall, how to demystify a whole area that can bring anxiety to the most accomplished of businesswomen.

We also spoke with Diarmuid McSweeney, co-founder of athleisure brand Gym+Coffee about what he’s learned on public speaking through his career, and the different skills that come into play for varying business scenarios.

As always, the evening began with Malfy Gin and Fever Tree cocktails, and a chance to catch up with your IMAGE Business Club community. There were plenty of opportunities to meet our speakers, a prize on the night, and a gift bag for everyone on departure.
