From the perfect fit jeans that took years to find to the denim dresses ideal for spring, the IMAGE staffers wore their best-loved denim pieces to work for the day.

My go-to pair of denim are these blue cropped wide-leg jeans from Mango. I’m 5’2″ and I feel like they’re the perfect length for me to wear with runners for every day or to dress up with heels and a nice top. They’re so comfy and stretchy too, that I have no problem wearing them all day long.

Over the years, jeans and I have had a fractured and tumultuous relationship. However, when I find a good pair, I hold on for dear life – they are a life raft in the sartorial world. This pair are from Amazon and they fit like a dream. The denim is light but they still maintain structure and I love that the leopard print gives a little extra edge.

I recently bought a pair of straight-leg jeans from JW Anderson’s collection with Uniqlo and I absolutely adore them. They’re the perfect shade of blue, fit like a glove and manage to make my legs look much longer than they actually are (all without the hem dragging on the ground). At 5ft 3, it’s rare that I don’t have to get my trousers taken up so I always appreciate when a brand offers different length options. I’ve already repurchased them in a different colour!

The struggle is very real when trying to find the perfect pair of denim jeans and if I’m being quite honest, I still haven’t found my perfect pair of jeans. Instead, I have these trompe-loeil (optical illusion) printed jeans on a denim skirt. I got it from Weekday last summer and I love pairing it with my outfits, it’s a fun bold statement and it’s one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe.

I love jeans, so it’s hard to pick a favourite pair, but it probably has to go to the only one I own in two different shades – the Barrel-leg jeans from Whistles. For me, the silhouette is the perfect balance between being loose and relaxed, with still enough shape that they’re interesting. They’re so versatile, and look just as good with trainers and an oversized jumper as they do dressed up with a shirt and boots. I have the classic denim shade as well as the white, but would also be tempted by the dark denim for more polished looks.

I recently picked up this midi denim dress from Zara, and it’s immediately become a favourite in my wardrobe. The fitted waist is gathered at the side so it’s ultra flattering, and I love the collared V-neck — it makes it so easy to look well put together while staying as comfortable as possible. It’s perfect for springtime, and so versatile for when I’m heading into the office and I want to feel good.

These high-waisted Wide Leg Jeans from Marks & Spencer, are my uniform at the moment because they are just so comfortable to wear and come in every denim shade you could want. Best of all, they’re available in four different leg lengths (extra short, short, regular and long) so you’re guaranteed a perfect fit.

My wardrobe is made up of 90% denim but there is one piece I keep on gravitating towards the past month or so and it’s this gorgeous Indigo Denim Jumpsuit from J.D Williams which is from Oxendales. It is something I have worn to the office with trainers and on a night out with the girls with heels. It is so versatile and most importantly, majorly comfortable!

Never was anyone happier to usher in the era of the wide-legged jean than I was. Eager to break free from the shackles of skinny jeans, I picked up this pair in & Other Stories a few years ago – a light denim in their treasure cut (similar to these on sale). While I, like many others, I’m sure, have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with jeans, I don’t think you can go wrong with blue denim and a pop of red. I love to pair my jeans with my prized Alohas loafers as I feel the cut really shows them off!

Working from home has made jeans feel like something of a novelty item for me. They have been relegated to the furthest corners of my wardrobe for the longest time, and by ‘they’ I mean the old pair of Levi’s I inherited from an ex’s father (we shan’t dwell) and a very, very, very oversized pair of light wash denim jeans that I thought, at the time, were chic (they were not).

I recently got the W’ Jens Pant from Carhartt, and they’re the perfect medium wash. They’re also 100% cotton, high waisted and loose fitting, while still hugging the bottom, which is always nice. Given the brand’s workwear sensibilities, these jeans are actually comfortable, and I am very much enjoying pairing them with some heeled boots for that ‘90s look.
