Refresh your memory of the 2021 Academy Award nominees ahead of tonight's 2021 Oscars.
The 2021 Oscar nominees list were announced last month, with streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu dominating the awards due to the closure of cinemas (large rooms where people used to sit together to watch new films on a giant screen) for the last year. The Netflix film Mank has earned 10 nominations, and for the first time, two women are nominated for directing: Emerald Fennell and Chloé Zhao, the first Chinese woman and woman of colour to be nominated in the category.
Ahead of tonight’s 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, which kicks off at 3am Irish time and will air on RTÉ 2 tomorrow at 9.35pm.
