The original Sanderson Sisters will return for Hocus Pocus 2
The news we didn't know we needed today, the original cast from our favourite Halloween movie (possibly ever) will return for its long-awaited sequel. Here is what we know so far.

We have it confirmed!
The original Sanderson Sisters — that is, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy — will return to their iconic roles in the sequel to 1993’s cult classic Hocus Pocus.
The sequel is set for a fall 2022 release date on Disney Plus. The sequel was originally set to be directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray), but due to scheduling conflicts, it will now be helmed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) and will start production in the autumn of this year.
The first film, directed by Kenny Ortega, follows a teenage boy and his young sister who accidentally summons three child-eating witches on Halloween night. Throw in a talking cat and an unforgettable musical number, and well, you’ve got perfection in the form of a spooky classic.
The sequel appears to follow a similar set-up, except this time, and perhaps fittingly, it’s three young women who summon the Sanderson Sisters in a new, modern world.
According to a release, the plot of Hocus Pocus 2 will feature “three young women [who] accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world”.
Midler has always said the role of Winfred Sanderson remains her favourite, and we can’t wait to see how she, along with Parker and Najimy sink their teeth into the sisters now up against the frights of modern technology.
It’s all just a bunch of Hocus Pocus 2??

Other details are scarce as of yet, but can we hope for a memorable musical sequence worthy of Instagram Reels?
We wait in hope.
