‘They should all be in jail’: Britney Spears is speaking her mind and she has plenty to say

Previously unable to comment on the situation while it was still happening, Britney has since gotten her freedom and now her voice has come back too.

Finally able to speak freely, Britney isn’t holding back and she has quite a lot to say with regards to her family. “I’m here today to answer all of your guys’ questions,” she told fans in a short two-minute clip she posted on Instagram yesterday. “The first main question that you guys have been asking me is, ‘What am I going to do now that the conservatorship is over with?’ Very good question. Well, let’s see. I’ve been in the conservatorship for 13 years,” she explained. “It’s a really long time to be in a situation you don’t want to be in. So, I’m just grateful honestly for each day.”

Visibly emotional at the prospect of being independent for the first time in over a decade, Britney admitted that she’s mostly just excited about the daily mundanities that other people take for granted – having the keys to her car, owning an ATM card, seeing cash for the first time, being able to buy candles. “It’s the little things for us women but it makes a huge difference,” she added before noting that “it’s nice, it’s really nice”.

Some may want to paint her as a victim, but she has no intention of playing up to that portrayal and Britney said that she really just wants to be an advocate for those with “real disabilities and real illnesses”. “I’m a very strong woman so I can only imagine what the system has done to those people. So hopefully my story will make an impact and make some changes in the corrupt system.”

Extending a heartfelt thank you to the whole Free Britney movement, she credits them with helping to make this a reality for her. “You guys rock, honestly. My voice was muted and threatened for so long and I wasn’t able to speak up or say anything. Because of you guys and the awareness of kind of knowing what was going on and delivering that news to the public for so long, you gave it awareness… because of you, I honestly think you guys saved my life in a way. 100%.”

Also hinting that she might just organise an exclusive tell-all with Oprah, that’s one interview we would pay BIG money to see. “I might as well do a hint of my thoughts on the gram before I go and set things square on Oprah,” she captioned the post. “It still blows my mind every day I wake up how my family and the conservatorship were able to do what they did to me… it was demoralizing and degrading!!!! I’m not even mentioning all the bad things they did to me which they should all be in jail for… yes, including my church-going mother,” she wrote. “I’m used to keeping [the] peace for the family and keeping my mouth shut… but not this time.  I have NOT FORGOTTEN and I hope they can look up tonight and know EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN.”

Whether Britney actually intends to sit down with the US talk show host or not remains to be seen, but if we were Oprah, we’d be having our people contact Britney’s people ASAP.

Joining the performer in celebrating the end of her conservatorship, fans all across the globe have been marking the momentous occasion on social media. Resharing one particular video of supporters toasting to her newfound freedom, Brit admitted that the day she got the good news was the “best day ever”. “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy,” she captioned the clip. “I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day!”
