Joe Canning in Conversation with Joe Connolly

Galway hurling legend Joe Canning will be joining former Galway hurler Joe Connolly for a conversation about his biography, Joe Canning: My Story. Joe Canning is a five-time All-Star hurler. In 2017, he won a senior All-Ireland medal for Galway, defeating Waterford to bring the Liam MacCarthy Cup back across the Shannon for the first time in 29 years and earning the Hurler of the Year Award.

An evening specially dedicated for young people ages 16-19, Youth Lates foster a supportive environment for young musicians, poets, and performers to share their talents, while also showcasing the incredible skills of young musicians involved in Music Generation Galway City programmes. There’ll be an open mic, live music, and some special guest performances.
Dingle Literature Festival

This unique bilingual festival was conceived in 2019 with a twofold mission: to bring some of the best contemporary writers in English to the local audience and to celebrate the rich literary and cultural heritage of the area through an Irish language programme, as well as supporting new writing in Irish. This year’s event line-up includes conversations with Cecelia Ahern, Roddy Doyle, Rónán Hession, and Cauvary Madhavan.
Anxious Preoccupied by Joanne McNally pop-up shop

A world premiere by Enda Walsh and Anna Mullarkey at the Abbey Theatre, Safe House is a unique experience played out in a handball alley on the Peacock Stage. Through song, music, recorded voice, and film, we’re outside looking at Grace, a young woman living alone in the countryside and then we’re inside her fractured thoughts – trying to make some sense of it all. Her past arrives broken and chopped up. The present skips forward and days flip into night, seasons jarring into one another.

Coolmine Musical Society is taking to the stage with Sister Act, the musical based on the 1992 hit movie of the same name. In this story, Deloris witnesses a murder and her life takes a surprising turn as she’s hidden in the most unlikely place for her – a convent. With a little persuasion, she helps the struggling choir to find success and helps her fellow sisters find their true voices.

Returning for its sixth instalment, Spilt Milk Festival is an annual celebration of music, art and film that provides a platform for experimental art across music, sound art, video and film. Kitt.
