Brigid 1500 is a comprehensive programme aimed at celebrating and commemorating the life and legacy of St. Brigid. Its main objective is to create a meaningful cultural and societal legacy that resonates with a diverse, contemporary audience. There are workshops, talks, live music and film — there’s even an event dedicated to the making of a community St. Brigid’s Cloak, and cross-making demonstrations.
27 January, The Wonderful Barn, Leixlip
A highly anticipated event on the Brigid 1500 programme, this food symposium features some great speakers, workshops and demos focusing on sustainability and food quality. One of five ticketed Nothing Compares events hosted by Hot Press and Kildare County Council, panellists include Edizemi Onilenla of Mama Shee, Jess Murphy of Galway’s Kai, and Julia Hemingway of Julia’s Lobster Truck.

TradFest is a joyful celebration of Irish music and culture that invites music lovers to experience live music in the best pubs and music venues in Dublin city centre and beyond. It’s officially your last weekend to experience this unique exhibition at Hugh Lane Gallery. Containing more than 250 works borrowed from museums and private collections in the US, Canada, Europe and the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, this exhibition celebrates Andy Warhol’s new artistic vision which saw him combine commercial processes with fine art production. He experimented with silkscreen printing on canvas, film, photography, publishing, performance, video and television. Warhol challenged conventional canons in art, dismissing traditional distinctions between fine art and popular culture.
