Stacey Dooley is hosting a make-up talent show and we are SO ready

Is this the show we’ve always been waiting for? Everything else seems to have had a talent show dedicated to it already: singing, dancing, sewing, pottery and baking have already graced our screens. Makeup lovers unite, it’s finally OUR turn. Yes, that’s right, the BBC have announced a new show called ‘Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star’ and they’re on the hunt for the best talent out there.

This news would be exciting enough in itself, and then we saw who was hosting and judging. Stacey Dooley, our absolute girl crush last year after her hard-hitting documentary on sustainability, as well as winning Strictly Come Dancing, has been announced as the host. Her cool girl, laid-back vibe is something we love and we look forward to seeing her in the driving seat as a host.

The two main judges have also been announced as Val Garland and Dominic Skinner. The latter is the Global Senior Artist for MAC Cosmetics so we’re sure he’ll be looking for someone with a flair for the dramatic. Val Garland is a giant in the beauty industry, having dominated catwalk make-up for years. Both quirky and original, we’re looking forward to seeing her input on the show.

Not only that, but there will be guest judges every week and our imaginations are already in over-drive for who these could be. Our wish list? Lisa Eldridge, Pat McGrath and Charlotte Tilbury.

It seems the show will be following a similar formula to America’s Next Top Model, there will be 10 contestants both working and living together, with one being eliminated each week. The prize? A contract to assist to make-up artists.

The show is due to be aired later this year, with the date still to be announced so keep your eyes peeled.
