9 Perfectly Pale Foundations For Celtic Skin

When you’re blessed with Celtic skin, it can be a task and a half trying to find a foundation that suitably matches your translucent tones. To some, it might even be referred to as The Holy Grail of product hunts, but thankfully as it has proven popular to be pale in recent times, the struggle is getting a little easier. You’re always going to be paler?in the winter months, so if you were thinking of making the switch in the run-up to Christmas, now would be the ideal time to do so. To make the process that little bit easier, we’ve intently tried and tested these nine choices and can attest that they all do the job; the colour match is perfect, you can opt for varied coverage and they come in at a range of different price points to suit any budget. Go forth, and embrace your pale side.

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 107 Pink, €40

Make-Up-Ever-HD-Foundation

You can create a full coverage, yet it feels feather-light when applied and the colour match is spot on. There are 18 shades available and the first three should suit all variations of paleness.

Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia, €40

This satin finish foundation has garnered a cult-like following (much like its blusher) and photographs beautifully. There is one caveat with this shade – it is very much yellow-based, so be sure to test it if you think it might be too yellow for you. It also doesn’t contain an SPF, so be sure to apply this beforehand.

Chanel VITALUMI?RE AQUA in 22 – Beige Ros?, €45

vitalumiere-aqua-ultra-light-skin-perfecting-makeup-spf-15-22-beige-rose-30ml.3145891708202

This is an ultra-light, water-based fluid that glides onto the skin and doesn’t skin into any pores or fine lines. At first glance, this writer was convinced the shade would be too dark, but don’t be fooled by the colour of it initially. Once applied, it was a perfect match and it is now my new favourite.

Illamasqua Skin Base in 02, €32

123720000099

This one can be bought online and is a true HD foundation. It doesn’t move once applied and this shade (02), is for pink tones while 03 is more yellow-based, so you’ll be one or the other depending. This has been a favourite of mine for years.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW10, €31.50

NW10 and NW13 are the two newest pale shades MAC introduced to help us Irish gals out. This one is a fuller coverage.

Rimmel Match Perfection in 010 Light Porcelain, €9.99

We love this foundation. You won’t get a better budget option and the porcelain shade is as pale as pale can be.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup in Shell, €38

027131392378 (1)

A gorgeous shade match with a full coverage, now with a medium coverage finish counterpart released. This is a great one for winter.

YSL Le Teint Touche ?clat Foundation in BR10, €40

10141836 (1)

YSL revamped this foundation last Christmas, but it is nowhere near as nice as the original so stick with this one. BR10 is the palest shade and they start getting more yellow-based as the shades go on. It looks completely natural on the skin and one bottle should last months, even if you use it every day.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Alabaster, €35

Many wept when Bobbi Brown announced their intention to remove the gorgeous Alabaster shade from their European market (it can still be bought in the US) and the foundation stick is currently the only product you can buy in that particular shade. This is a matte finish and perfect for touch ups on the go.

Have you any extra recommendations? We’d love to hear them so please post in the comments.
