Ireland’s luxury hotel group The Doyle Collection are proud corporate sponsors of Irish Design 2015, a year that celebrates the diversity and world-class appeal of home grown designs. To celebrate this unique partnership The Westbury Hotel has created Irish Design Afternoon Tea.

The tea includes a collection of beautifully handcrafted cakes, pastries and sandwiches, paying homage to some of Ireland’s top designers and craftspeople inspired by Portfolio Critical Selection 2015-2016 published by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland.

The Westbury Hotel’s executive pastry chef Tatjana Upelniece-Kiselova has taken her artistic vision from five Irish designers? works to create Irish Design Afternoon Tea including; a decadent Earl Grey cheesecake served on a crunchy base which emulates Karl Harron’s glasswork titled Migration Reactive Bullseye, while the sour cream mousse with blackberry cremeux echoes Angela O?Kelly’s Long Round Sculptural Neckpiece. Cillian O? Suilleabhain’s Tetrahedra chest of drawers made of walnut and ash has inspired a chocolate ?clair with lemon curd, a dulcey panna cotta, mango and banana caramel pot is inspired by Ash Footed Vessel by wood work designer Liam Flynn as well as a blueberry roulade, chocolate and mascarpone Chantilly influenced by ceramic designer Jack Doherty’s Duo Porcelain all served in the stylish surroundings of The Westbury Hotel Gallery.

 

Irish Design Afternoon Tea at the Westbury Hotel is available for €45 per person, and €55 per person with champagne and is subject to availability. Guests can contact the hotel for bookings on 01 646 3311.
