If you’re not sure where to start with wedding dress styles, that first trip to the bridal store can give you more of a headache than a flush of butterflies. With so many different materials, shades of white and off white and cream (and everything in between), varying necklines and dress lengths, you are quite literally spoiled for choice. Most often, your budget will dictate the price range in which you’ve got room to maneuver but knowing what it is that would suit you best is a great place to start. Today we’re taking it back to basics, channeling our inner plain Jane.?Rather than get carried away with lace and appliqu? other blingy accoutrements, sometimes less is more.

What’s also worth remembering is that a plain dress needn’t be boring; you can always add some spice where your shoes or accessories are concerned, or you could even opt for a detailed veil or headpiece. If you’re initially put off by the idea of a plain and simple gown, browse our gallery above; you’ll soon be swayed into the world of simplicity.

Which one’s your favourite?
