Lisa Eldridge was announced yesterday as Lanc’me’s new creative director of makeup and we can’t think of a more deserving appointment. For year’s we’ve been fanatics of Eldridge’s, pre-drinking to her Youtube tutorials and keeping her eponynous site bookmarked as our digital beauty bible. ?Her partnership with Lanc’me promises some amazing things – videos, a new Paris Atelier and new collections. And Eldridge worked on the Lanc’me counter of Harrods way back when. Talk about destiny.
Here we look at why Eldridge is just so successful and easily considered the world’s leading makeup artist
Her Youtube Channel
Eldridge’s makeup tutorials are the first port of call for any gal looking for some visual guidance before a night out. Her chatty encouragment and stellar tips have coached us through many an attempt at winged eyeliner. Also, her videos with celebrities such as Alexa Chung are just bloody brilliant. Not only do you get the beauty secrets of the stars, but you sort of get to know a person outside of ever critical Daily Mail parameters.
Her she is with model turned cookbook author Sophie Dahl perfecting the perfect lavender smokey eye. Keep this on on the favourites tab because purple is set to become the eye shadow shade of spring with Vera Wang and Derek Lam sending their models down the runway in lilac and grape tones.
Her Career Trajectory
Lisa Eldridge?is a self-made success story. She tapped into the power of the internet early on, trailing a blaze that many have sought to emulate. While the term ?personal brand? can grate, Ms. Eldridge has hers perfected. She stuck to what she is brilliant at and made herself an authoritative voice on all things beauty. So many career lessons from one incredible woman – when is the memoir slash manual coming out?
Her Attitude is on Point
Eldridge mixes it up with the premium and the affordable when it comes to product recommendations – she’s as at home at a Chanel counter as she is in Boots nabbing some nude No 7 liner. Her accessibility is what has made her a star and is one of the reasons we love her. She also owns the fact she’s a beauty maven and has words for people who dismiss the industry. She spoke to Red about this kind of attitude, ?Make-up is seen as a frivolous thing, but it gives women confidence to achieve things if they feel like they look good.?Working on?10 Years Younger with ‘real women? – who don’t have great skin, who can’t afford facials once a week and who’ve been through pretty rough life experiences – taught me this.?
