8 delicious iced coffee recipes to try at home

From homemade cold brew to caramel frappuccinos, try one of these simple coffee recipes at home this summer

For us coffee-holics, the first thing we look forward to in the morning is a comforting cup of joe.

It equips us to face the long work day ahead, which has become significantly less exciting as most of us are working from home.

But whether you’re typing away at the dining table or holding a Zoom meeting in bed, coffee has become a reliable, simple pleasure.

With these eight recipes, you can switch things up in the kitchen and indulge in a frosty frappuccino or a café-worthy latte.

Cold brew

For something a bit stronger than your usual filtered coffee, try a smooth cup of cold brew. Simply steep one cup of coffee grounds in four cups of water overnight, strain the next morning and you are ready to go. (Simply Recipes)

Simple iced latte

Cool off with a refreshing iced latte this summer, made with just a few ingredients already stocked in your kitchen. Mix two espresso shots with two teaspoons of sugar, honey or maple syrup and pour the sweetened coffee over a glass of iced milk. (BBCGoodFood)

Coffee frappuccino

Combine crushed ice, two shots of espresso, milk and sugar in a blender, then top with whipped cream. This is a great alternative for those who like coffee without all the pomp of syrups and overindulgent sweetness. (Savory Sweet Life)

Caramel frappuccino

For something more indulgent, this caramel frappuccino hits the spot. Blend together ice, strong coffee, milk, caramel sauce and sugar, then top with fresh cream and caramel drizzle for the finished look. (Allrecipes

Iced vanilla latte

This Starbucks copycat is way cheaper to make at home and has just 111 calories per serving. Simply combine two cups of coffee, ½ cup of milk (or cream) and two tablespoons of vanilla syrup over ice. (Snacks and Sips)

Iced mocha

This highly rated recipe is easy to make and store. Pour leftover coffee into an ice cube tray and leave overnight. Then, the next morning, blend together the coffee ice cubes with milk, chocolate syrup and sugar. The coffee ice cubes prevent drinks from becoming too watered-down. (Allrecipes)

Easy iced cappuccino

This recipe is very similar to Dalgona coffee but without the tedious whisking. In a sealable jar (or water flask), add instant coffee, sugar and warm water and shake until foamy. Pour into an iced glass of milk and voila! (Allrecipes)

Frozen hot chocolate

Okay, so this one isn’t a coffee recipe but it’s a great drink to make for the kids so they feel included while you have your coffee. Plus, it’s just three ingredients: chocolate milk, hot chocolate mix and ice. (Mel’s Kitchen Cafe).
