Amanda Seyfried And Justin Long Split

Amanda Seyfried And Justin Long Split

Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long have split up after two years together, according to various news reports. The couple apparently ended things in recent weeks with a source revealing to Us Weekly that Justin is pretty devastated about the way things have turned out. He had been vocal in interviews about the couple’s relationship and future.

To be honest, we’re pretty upset too. This has been a most difficult summer for celebrity watchers. First we had to watch Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt’s union crumble after 18 years together. Then Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck acted out a divorce melodrama more suited to one of the made-for-tv movie channels on the Sky box. (There was mention of a nanny.) And only mere weeks ago Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale filed for divorce after years of interviews during which Gwen basically beautified the father of their three children.

The emotional tumult just doesn’t stop.

Page Six says that the reason behind this latest parting of ways is down to Justin’s desire to make a commitment. The 37-year-old actor was apparently keen to get married but Amanda, who is 29, wasn’t ready just yet. The actress has had a crazy few years workwise and has spoken to the media about her anxiety as a result. She’s been busy with roles on Broadway and the next line on her CV is the long-awaited reboot of cult series Twin Peaks.

The couple started dating in 2013 after a very modern meet-cute story. Amanda began thinking of fellow actor Justin in the romantic sense after scrolling through his Instagram and realising she liked his vibe. One of his jokes made her laugh, and she texted him.

Looks like the summer of celebrity splits is stretching its sundering claws into Autumn. Which sacred cow is next?
