Bee Shaffer tied the knot with Francesco Carrozzini at a private ceremony in Italy yesterday. Shaffer announced her engagement to the Italian film director in March 2017, having first met him the previous year at a documentary screening. The newlyweds have more in common than one might think; not only is Bee the daughter of Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, but her husband is the son of the late editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani.
Bee wore an ivory Dolce & Gabbana dress with a plunging v-neck and elbow-length sleeves. The elegant number featured embroidered lace and was paired with an ornate, matching veil. Her sandals were gold and had a short, blocky heel; perfect for walking on old Italian cobblestones. The bride kept her jewellery choices simple, wearing a cross pendant necklace and drop-down tear-shaped earrings. Francesco, on the other hand, donned a navy suit, navy tie and brown shoes; though he was later pictured looking casual in a black t-shirt and jeans.
The church service, which took place in the fishing village of Portofino, is the couple’s second marriage ceremony this year. They already exchanged vows in the back garden of Anna Wintour’s Long Island home earlier this month. While that too was a private ceremony for close family and friends, it’s been reported online that Bee wore a classic white gown with a floor-length veil.
Bee has already changed her Instagram handle from Bee Shaffer to Bee Carrozzini, where she’s not shy about sharing loved-up photos with her other half. The pair seem to be truly in love and we at IMAGE wish them all the best.
