Whatever goes down between a couple that causes them to split, regardless of who did what, who was right or wrong, it can only be a thousand times worse when magnified through the celebrity lens, where the likes of you and I feel compelled to know their inner most secrets, how they feel post break-up etc., purely because their work puts them in ht public eye. Though it’s really none of our beeswax, it’s nice to see Ben Affleck sit down with none other than Ellen Degeneres and speak so openly about something that’s evidently been very difficult. To be torn apart by the media and fans, all while trying to keep your family safe from prying eyes, never mind working on blockbuster movies, it can’t be easy. Following on from an interview with the New York Times, here Ben, the star of Batman Versus Superman presents himself as calm, yet vulnerable.

Can you imagine sitting in front of an audience eager to know how you’re feeling since your very public and somewhat dramatic split? Ben said to Ellen, following Garner’s Vanity Fair interview: ?We’re good friends and we’re doing our best, and the kids are fabulous and we’re working on our best for them.?

Whatever about the fate of their relationship, whether or not it’s done and dusted or has a chance of being reignited, Ben’s love for his kids is clear, when speaking about finally being able to let them see a movie he’s in:
?I haven’t done anything that my kids can see for a long time, so I thought that would be kind of cool. My son thinks it’s really cool. He came to the set, he saw me, he was a little bit suspicious. He was like, ‘Is that the real Superman?’

Watch what he had to say here.
