Breaking news: Cher is coming to Dublin

Breaking news: Cher is coming to Dublin

This is not a drill people. The legendary, iconic, diva-at-large herself Cher is bringing her world tour to Dublin.

Cher will perform in Ireland for the first time in 15 years in 2019, with tickets going on sale this week.

The announcement was made on social media this morning, to a rapturous reception from thousands of Irish fans, including ourselves. Cher, an enduring idol over the years, reached a whole new set of fans with her appearance in Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again earlier this year. The fact that she was in the movie for all of ten minutes and still stole the show is a sign that the 72-year-old has no intention of slowing down.

The upcoming show is part of her Here We Go Again tour, which means she’ll be singing plenty of ABBA along with her own repertoire of tunes.

We could go on and on about Cher’s endless accolades (Oscar winner, hello?), her unbelievable back catalogue of songs (The Shoop Shoop song is a personal favourite), and her inimitable style (stirrups and sheer body suits for the win), but if you’re a true superfan, you know all of that already. Here’s all the information you need for the gig — see you in the Ticketmaster queue.

When: Friday the 1st of November, 2019

Where: The 3Arena

Tickets go on sale: This Friday, the 14th of December, at 10am.
