It’s no secret that we have a bit of a girl crush on Siobhan Lam, founder of April and the Bear, in BASH HQ. Lam has made us house-proud by offering an eclectic array of homewares for us to peruse through from the comfort of our couches. Presently, we’re making room for some bell jars on our mantelpiece; they’re the perfect piece to self-gift yourself with, this festive season. With an amazing eye for interiors and jewellery, we couldn’t help but let our mind’s eye wander to gorgeous details bound to make Siobhan’s impending nuptials with her fianc?, Jamie Hughes, a visual feast.

So we asked Siobhan to share her wedding thoughts and moodboards, offering inspiration to brides who just might share her love for laidback, people-focused celebrations. We’d marry you, too Siobhan? just giving you the option.

?Jamie and I have been going out since we were 17, we’re a hundred now so that makes it – I jest. We’ve been together for 13 very happy years. We’re getting hitched next year, all going to plan – we recently found a lovely humanist and (for now, secret) venue so it’s finally coming together. To me, marriage is about two people (of any gender), expressing their love and commitment, in front of the people that mean the most to them. It’s a loud, lovely and fairly costly expression of love.?

?Solange Knowles? recent wedding is, pretty much, my dream. It really seemed like it was an expression of their love and seemed very ?them?. That’s what we’re really after – a day that’s very ?us?.? Hence, we decided very early on that we wouldn’t be having a HUGE HOTEL wedding. We’re having a small bash instead, something intimate and fun that reflects who we really are.?

?Food is quite important to us – we love to eat and having a delicious wedding meal is high on our list. In terms of what food we serve, it will probably be something delicious, indulgent and unpretentious, that’s what I’m hoping for.?

If you’re struggling with gathering the finishing touches to your day then head over to aprilandthebear.com for delicate jewellery and bold accents – hot pink pigs, as table centrepieces, anyone?
