Buy a Helen Cody original for €100 and raise much needed funds for ARC Cancer Support Centres

ARC Cancer Support Centres are a haven from the outside world, offering support to men, women and children affected by cancer and those who care for them.

The coronavirus pandemic has had an enormous impact on those affected by cancer and their loved ones. Cancer treatment plans have been impacted, surgeries postponed and some oncology healthcare workers re-deployed. As a result, cancer patients and their loved ones are experiencing increased anxiety and vulnerability. They need the support of Arc, now more than ever.

Arc’s ability to raise charitable income has been severely curtailed and the funds required to provide their services are in jeopardy. Irish designer Helen Cody decided she wanted to help, and has been releasing original drawings every week to help raise much needed funds.

Helen Cody explains,“I’m in frequent contact with Arc for various things, and it’s devastating to hear that all their fundraising has been cancelled. This is only a small act, but every Thursday on my Instagram (@helencodydublin) I’m releasing drawings for €100 with all funds going directly to Arc.

I’ve been drawing madly since lockdown, something I haven’t done really since my NCAD days. I started drawing original shoe designs last week (my nickname at home is Imelda!) with the intention of doing one a week but I had 8 requests for similar cherry blossoms, which of course I couldn’t say no to.”

So how can I buy a drawing?

By making a €100 donation directly to Arc (with reference HC art) and sending a screengrab of the receipt to @helencodydublin on Instagram along with your name and address. Helen will then post you your original signed sketch. Next Thursday April 30th at 5pm Helen will release 10 drawings and the following week, there will be another series released. She will continue until lockdown is over.
