Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP has come under consistent criticism and shade since its launch in 2008, what with its luxe granola ethos and approval of all things minimalist getaway island mansion. However, even the most vehement haters of her high-end online magazine come lifestyle shop will pause in sympathy at the fact a pop-up Goop boutique in New York’s Time Warner Centre in Manhattan was robbed in recent days.

Goop was raided on Saturday evening, apparently, with over $173,000 worth of jewellery stolen from under the nose ofdisracted and busy staff. Items were taken from a cabinet, including a Bulgari bracelet from the 1940s that is worth $106,000, Associated Press reports. Three watches were also nabbed – Rolex of course.

Three suspects are being sought by the authorities. The three assailants allegedly walked into the store and forced the cabinet open with an object before making a bejewelled dash. Thankfully, no staff or shoppers were harmed. Goop released a statement:

“There was an isolated incident Saturday afternoon involving a very limited number of items, which was reported to the NYPD… While the store was crowded during one of our busiest days, thankfully the NYPD responded quickly, our customers and staff are safe, and we remain open for business with proper security precautions in place.?
