How much would you pay for an evening with one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors? We know that sounds odd (the money goes towards a good cause, just FYI), but we’re being serious. Now before you answer, you can be sure this isn’t just any man, but the very one who made us swoon when he sailed on the doomed Titanic.

Yep, you guessed it ladies, a night and some fancy dinner on (very aptly indeed) a boat with the mega star that is Leonardo DiCaprio could have all been yours – if you had a few hundred thousand grand to spare. And no, we’re not kidding. Variety reports that the actor auctioned off a package at the Cannes amfAR gala last night, and it fetched a whopping $280.000. Holy smokes, we’d kill for a date with the man, but that’s a serious asking price.

But, hey, this is the stuff of which dreams are made and we know that since the thing was auctioned off, some incredibly lucky girl or guy gets an amazingly fabulous prize.? We’re not jealous at all, we’re just going to curl into a ball and cry a little as our hopes of dating the man crumple to dust.

Some other cool stuff was auctioned off at the event, but we’re just here for Leo. The funds raised from the big date with the famous actor are reportedly all going to a nice, and charitable cause, which is great but it still cost someone almost $300,000! Still, who knows what will be got up to on that boat, we’re betting there’ll be models there. Is it too much to hope that Leo will use the Titanic soundtrack as music for the evening? Probably just our wishful thinking, but hey, a girl can dream?
