Into the wild: the essential accessories you need for your next camping trip

Going camping on your Irish holiday? Here we list 12 items you need to make your expedition as comfortable as possible.

If you are the camping type, then you need good camping accessories.

If the wild calls out to you and you have a burning need to be at one with nature, then you have to carry the right gear.

With staycations the trip of the day, camping is having its moment in the sun. From family breaks to a weekend with the girls, nothing makes you more grounded than sleeping on the actual ground.

The idea of camping for novices can be terrifying. What do you pack? What’s the right size tent? What if it rains?

And what about the bears?

Thankfully, the online world is blessed with a range of camping retailers that are experts in the area. Most have excellent camping specific areas on their websites with our top picks being Regatta and Halfords.

Although you may have to go elsewhere about the bears.

The camping pros will tell you the same thing: invest in a good tent and sleeping bag and that is half the battle. From there, items such as gas stoves, chairs, lanterns, and cool boxes make up your kit.

If you are feeling particularly fancy, an inflatable pillow and light up bunting will have you camping in style.
