Ireland’s first driverless public transport will take to the streets later this month and Dublin City Council has invited us all along for the ride. The Easymile EZ10 shuttle is an electric vehicle which holds up to 12 passengers at a time. It’s arriving in our capital city as part of European Mobility Week.
From 21st to 22nd September, the EZ10 will run along a specially designated route between the Dublin Convention Centre and the 3Arena on North Wall Quay. Dublin City Council is offering free tickets to members of the public who want to experience the new smart bus; though places are limited.

The shuttle has an inbuilt access ramp for wheelchair users and it doesn’t need any additional road infrastructure in order to operate. It’s already in daily operation in the US, Holland, China and Estonia, but this is Ireland’s first venture into the driverless project. The aim of European Mobility Week is to highlight the sustainable and green transport options available to people nowadays. Will you get onboard?
Trips on the EZ10 will be included in a Future of Mobility Showcase event on North Wall Quay on Saturday, 22nd September. The event, which has been organised by Dublin City Council as part of its Smart Docklands project (in partnership with the Civic Group), will allow Dublin natives to see smart and sustainable transport options firsthand.
The showcase is free to attend, open to everyone, and will include interactive exhibits from Bikeep, BleeperBike Ireland, eBikes Ireland, Go Car, Gyro Wheel, UPS, and more. There will also be face painters and street entertainers, making it suitable for the whole family.
