Kate & Matt, Another Conscious Uncoupling?

Kate Hudson Matt Bellamy

The rumour-mill went into overdrive, when Kate Hudson and her musician beau Matt Bellamy had not been pictured together for a while. However, a spokesperson for Hudson recently confirmed for?People magazine that “Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now.” The Hollywood couple began dating in 2010, got engaged in 2011 and together have a gorgeous three-year-old boy. While it could have been the time-suck that is having a toddler, which prevented their wedding plans from progressing, we were suspicious. There’s just something about an engagement that long that says “we’re not quite sure”.

What do you think? Is there a timeframe for how long an engagement should last? What’s the point in being engaged if you don’t have any actual plans to tie the knot?
