The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released new portraits of their daughter Princess Charlotte as she celebrates her fifth birthday
Some non-coronavirus news is always welcome, and it seems the royal family is providing us with our fill this weekend.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William have released never-before-seen pictures of their daughter Princess Charlotte to mark her birthday.
The couple has created a tradition in recent years of releasing such images of their children on their birth date.
The princess – who turns five today – is first seen in a series of images taken by her mother as the family helped to pack up and deliver food packages for those in need in the Norfolk area.
The pictures were published on the official Kensington Royal Instagram and Twitter pages with the accompanying posts saying: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share four new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fifth birthday tomorrow.
“The images were taken by The Duchess as the family helped to pack up and deliver food packages for isolated pensioners in the local area.”
One picture shows Charlotte knocking on the door of one of the recipients while carrying a bag of fresh pasta that her family had made the day before. While the final shot is a gorgeous portrait of the young princess staring directly into the camera.
This morning the family once again released a new image thanking the public for the birthday wishes sent to their daughter. In another portrait taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte is seen once again holding the bag of pasta while looking away from the camera.
It has been a busy few weeks of celebrations for the royal family with Prince Louis celebrating his second birthday on April 22, and the Duke and Duchess marking their ninth year of marriage this week.
