Palihouse Hotel

See More Photos
LA without a car is a tough one to crack. But By George, I think we’ve done it. The laid-back but luxe new Palihouse Hotel in Santa Monica is an easy run from the airport- two blocks from the beach and a short skip to 3rd Street Promenade (the ultimate uber High Street), it’s a perfect temporary HQ. Cursed by jetlag, if you wake up early you can grab a white upright bike for a jaunt down the beach and pier, follow with a lingering healthy breakfast in the clubby lobby and then be raring to go for meetings or shopping. The d?cor is orchestrated? just-so, with hand screened quirky wallpapers, vintage pieces and velvet upholstered poufs offset by slick sofas in generous rooms (studio 111 is actually a nice apartment setup complete with a kitchen you’d be happy with at home- heaven en famille).? There’s no pool but trust us, you won’t miss it for a second. Book on Jetsetter for good rates here, there and everywhere. Queen rooms from $350.
