BREAKING: Meghan Markle is pregnant, Kensington Palace confirms

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first baby, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

In a statement released by palace officials this morning, it was said, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

Pregnancy rumours have been swirling around the couple for weeks, as Meghan has been wearing loose-fitting coats while strategically covering her stomach. At Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday, she wore an oversized blue coat; and most recently, she stepped off a plane in Sydney, Australia clutching two purple folders in front of her body.

The baby news comes just five months after Meghan and Harry tied the knot in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May. It also comes on the first day of the pair’s Australian visit, where they will attend the Invictus Games and meet “as many Australians as possible”.

Messages of congratulations have been pouring in for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Twitter, with one user saying, “Such wonderful news and an exciting time for the duke and duchess. Congratulations to them both at this happy time. Wishing the Duchess of Sussex a safe and happy pregnancy.”
