Nigella Lawson gave us a glimpse into her kitchen, and we’re desperate to see more

Nigella Lawson gave us a glimpse into her kitchen, and we’re desperate to see more

Naturally, everyone’s favourite Domestic Goddess has a gorgeous house, so we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled on social media for interiors inspiration courtesy of Nigella

Nigella Lawson has been amongst everyone’s favourite chef for decades, with her charming demeanour and delicious recipes. She’s also shown her willingness to help out home cooks during lockdown, replying to many queries on Twitter about cooking.

As well as her many cookbooks and enviable wardrobe, it seems that Nigella has an equally desirable home — from what we can see. Although Nigella posts recipes daily on her social media, she doesn’t often give us a glimpse into her home life, but when she does, we’re always hanging on every detail.

This morning she shared a photo of her kitchen shelves, featuring wonderfully coordinated pastel shades, and what appears to be three(!) cast-iron casserole dishes, adorned with a fresh bunch of flowers.

Of course, this got us wondering about the rest of Nigella’s house. Although you may think you’ve seen inside it on her cooking shows, these are in fact sets rather than her own home. Naturally, we had a scroll through Instagram to see what other glimpses of her home she’s shared.

It turns out that Nigella’s shelves are not the only colourful aspect of her kitchen, with a large pistachio Aga and a disco-esque splashback. We’re also very jealous of her impressive collection of ladles.

She also has an extensive collection of pans, as this photo shows. Nigella is clearly a fan of having her kitchen tools to hand, so having them hanging overhead in place of high-up units is both aesthetically pleasing and useful when cooking — this set-up is going straight onto our dream kitchen wish-list. We also love the combination of pink and green units, who says all your cupboards have to be the same colour?

Nigella also has an absolutely beautiful garden, with gorgeous French doors leading out to a patio that we’d love for outdoor dinners. She lights it up in the evenings with fairy lights, which is pretty magical.

A glorious collection of books is also an enviable feature of Nigella’s home, as this shot shows. Imagine an afternoon curled up in that leather armchair, leafing through books. The ceiling and windows on this conservatory-style room are also beautiful, and we imagine this room is filled with natural light during the day.

She also gives us a better look at that armchair in this photo, which is beautifully worn. I’m even more jealous of those books on close inspection.

It’s also safe to say that Nigella has a ceramics collection to die for, which she uses as props for shooting her cookbooks, as well as her everyday dining.

It is now my life’s aim to have such an impressive collection, perhaps the only part of Nigella’s home that I’ll ever be able to achieve. I’ll still be keeping a close eye on her Instagram though, should she share any more interiors inspiration.
