Three dream houses to buy in Ranelagh right now

Three dream houses to buy in Ranelagh right now

Just 20 minutes from Dublin’s city centre, the trendy village of Ranelagh is dream property land. Best known for its numerous cafes, bars and restaurants, it’s also home to beautiful gardens, parks and boutiques. Of course, recreational activities aren’t everything. The area is also home to top-quality schools such as Alexandra College, while St Vincent’s University Hospital is a 15-minute drive away.

The bustling urban hub is within walking distance to all amenities, including dry cleaning, dental and GP services, supermarkets and gyms. If you prefer public transport, Ranelagh is also serviced by Dublin Bus routes 11 and 18, as well as the LUAS green line. Does this sound like your ideal place to live? Consider the three beautiful properties below.

10 Richmond Place – €895,000

If a modern, detached property filled with natural light sounds like your idea of heaven, check out 10 Richmond Place. Built in 2006, this contemporary home features two large double bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s an architectural lover’s dream, with split level concrete flooring, large windows and oak-panelled walls, while the elevated kitchen includes all mod cons. With underfloor heating, a security alarm and low-maintenance garden, it’s almost ready to live in. Estate agent Sherry Fitzgerald describes the house as a multi-award winning property that is practical, deceptively spacious, warm and inviting.

4 Upper Beechwood Avenue – €860,000

While deceptively small-looking from the front, this period property is actually quite spacious. It certainly needs some TLC (and the patterned carpets surely need to go) but with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and gloriously high ceilings, it’s one worth considering. Located at 4 Upper Beechwood Avenue, it’s a stone’s throw from local primary and secondary schools and just a two-minute walk from the Luas stop. Estate agent Douglas Newman notes that the west-facing garden is not overlooked and on-street parking is available to those who need it.

23 Sandford Road – €1,600,000

This Dutch colonial-style residence dates from the 1880s, with Lisney estate agents saying it’s been tastefully upgraded and decorated over the years. Ideally located in the heart of Ranelagh Village, the house at 23 Sandford Road has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large south-west facing garden. Notable features include two interconnecting reception rooms with bay windows and ornate cast-iron fireplaces, as well as central heating and generous off-street parking. If you’re looking for a long-term family home, this could be the one for you.
