Even if you are a mega-successful pop star, it doesn’t mean finding love is going to be easy. Form an orderly queue ladies, because it looks like singer Ed Sheeran is back on the market again, and this time he means business.
After reports that he recently separated from his girlfriend of a year, Athina Andrelos, Sheeran has said that he’s looking to find a relationship ?as strong as his parents.?
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the 24-year-old said that his parents have set a big example for him on the love front. And they’ve set an example on the love front: ?My parents are so in love it’s ridiculous. I kind of look at it like pressure,? he said.
“They’ve cracked it and my grandparents cracked it – but nowadays it’s harder to find that.? He’s also thinking down the line, and hopes to start a family some day. ?I hope to have kids,? he added. We’re sure he won’t have to worry, as we reckon there’ll be more than a few women wanting to help him out in this regard.
He’s achieved levels of superstardom since coming on the music scene back in 2005, but is still as grounded as ever. Despite playing to thousands in sold-out arena tours, he admits he prefers ‘student house parties and beans on toast? to showbiz bashes – and wants a family more than what comes along with the fame. Indeed, he’s clearly very family orientated, and said the best thing about achieving his success to date has been being able to provide for his parents, family and friends.
Could this guy get any sweeter? The answer is probably no.
?Being able to really pay my parents – not just financially – but being able to give them the things they wouldn’t have ever dreamed of…,? Ed said.
“Seeing them going off doing their thing is probably the best thing that’s come out of my career. They’re going around the world and for me to see that is great.? Aw! We love a family man, we have to say and we’re betting Ed won’t stay single for too long.
He also admitted he wasn’t choosing to play gigs for the money, but rather because he wanted to play in particular venues. He said of his recent run of successful gigs in Wembley in the UK: ?I’m not really doing big gigs for the money,? he said. ?I’m doing them because it’s good to play Wembley,? he said.
?Not many people have played Wembley: If you look at the list, it’s like Madonna, Eminem, Elton John, Queen… It’s quite a small list so it’s cool.?
