Laid-back and utterly lovely, this homecoming could not have been more perfect

THE HAPPY COUPLE?Jessica Russell, Learning Manager and Dermot Ryan, Engineering Manager live in Toronto after meeting at the University of Limerick in 2000.
THEIR WEDDING Jessica and Dermot’s easy-going attitude set the tone for their nuptials in gorgeous Ballinacurra House, Co Cork. From the beginning, the couple wanted nothing more than a house party with great food, music and company. They sought a lush garden feel for the d?cor – achieved through the use of peonies, roses and huge hydrangea blooms in the bride’s bouquet and table decorations. Soft pastels offset by teal (in the dining room and bridesmaids? dresses) lent a touch of luxury to the overall design, with candles accentuating the romantic aspect. We love Jessica’s modern take on a veil – her demure headdress, from Bella Bleu Vintage in Cork, was absolute perfection. Although clouds threatened to dampen the outdoor ceremony, the couple waited for a break in the weather, before saying their ?I dos? in the glorious Kinsale countryside. Way to spread the love, you guys.
Their super supplier? Was definitely Annie at Aislinn Events. Living in Toronto (with busy jobs and a five-hour time difference), the couple struggled to pull all their ideas together. Hiring an event planner makes a whole lot of sense when you can’t be onsite in advance of the big day
Their best moments? When those ominous clouds that had hung over the venue in the early morning parted just in time for the outdoor ceremony
