Sandra Bullock Is World’s Most Beautiful Woman

Sandra Bullock has been named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman by People magazine. While we find a celebrity magazine compiling a Most Beautiful list a little bit retrograde, we have to say this year’s list is a pretty cool one. Transgender actress Laverne Cox is on the list, as well as Irish actress Catriona Balfe. Bullock is 50-years-old and after years of romantic comedy purgatory she’s enjoying one of the most dynamic careers in Hollywood. She’s dominating scripts that shout Strong Female Character.

When asked about winning the title Sandra was nonplussed and declared her victory ?ridiculous?. Which is exactly why she deserves to win. In recent years, Sandra became a mother to 5-year-old Louis and told the magazine she felt that role was a much more important one.

?No, be a good person, be a good mom, do a good job with the lunch, let someone cut in front of you who looks like they’re in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren’t trying,? she told the magazine.

She also shared a lovely story about tucking Louis into bed:

“I was putting him to bed and told him that even when I’m old and gray and more wrinkly than I am now, I’ll still love him and want to tuck him in. And, he asked why I have wrinkles, and I said, ‘Well, I hope some of them are from laughing so much.’ He touched my face and said, ‘You’re not old, you’re just happy.'”

How cute is that?

Who else made the list? Get out those tri-colours because Irish actress Catriona Balfe made an appearance alongside Sandra and company. The former model is the star of sci-fi/fantasy/historical romance hit television show Outlander. The Starz show debuted last year and has a rabid fan base, thanks in part to the chemistry Catriona shares with her very dashing co-star Sam Heughan, who plays a dashing 17th-century Highlander.
