People joined forces at?Killashee House Hotel in Naas for a special charity event in aid of the Peter?McVerry?Trust and its services for people in need in the county.?

?The impetus behind the initiative comes from self-made businesswoman?Jackie Lavin. Speaking about the event, Lavin explained, ?I set up a committee of Kildare girls a few years back with?Margaret?Beere, Aileen?Morrin, Sheila Zebedee, Caroline O’Brien,?Ber?Lowe, Mary Dunne, Anna McMahon & Teresa Forde. We’ve been running events for charity, such as St Vincent de Paul, ever since. This year, we’re delighted to be able to help Peter?McVerry?expand his homeless services in our county. Many local companies took tables for what was really fun and festive Party Night”.

Patricia had those in attendance all rocking?to her new band “City Chic“.? Artistes?Mundy?&?Paddy Casey?played their unique style of music for such the great cause.?Kathy Nugent‘sang some Shirley?Basseywhile?Lorraine Keane brought her own style and glamour to the night alongside?Brian Purcell.?

?Peter?McVerry?Trust has supported thousands of young people in need through a range of accommodation and support services for more than thirty years. In Kildare specifically, operates homeless services in the form?of’supported?temporary accommodation in?Newbridge, an out-of-hours information and advice?freephone‘service,?step‘down accommodation. The charity is progressing plans to deliver a new family service in?Athy?and a new aftercare service in?Naas for?teenagers leaving the care system.?

At this time of year Peter?McVerryTrust faces huge pressure to provide additional homeless supports. Those supports can only be delivered because people give generously of their time and money to help our work.
