One week after selling out nine stadium concerts in the UK, the Spice Girls have confirmed they’re coming to Dublin next summer.

The nineties pop group made the announcement on Twitter this morning, saying, “Ireland… We’ve seen all your messages and tweets so we’re VERY happy to announce a #SpiceWorld2019 show for you at Dublin’s Croke Park on May 24th.

“Tickets go on sale next Thursday at 9 am,” they added, “SEE YOU SOON x”.

The Spice Girls will be the first girl group to headline the Irish stadium; which comes 21 years after their last Irish show.

What’s more, it’s the only concert the band have confirmed to play outside of the UK. Needless to say, Irish fans are delighted. Social media star James Patrice shared this video upon hearing the announcement.

Earlier this month, singer Jess Glynne (behind hits such as Hold My Hand and Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself) was announced as the band’s support act. She and the Spice Girls will kick off the tour at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on March 29 2019.

Tickets for the Spice Girls Dublin show will be available from all usual outlets on Thursday, November 22, at 9 am.
