Style watch: These are the outfits we will be wearing this coming spring

Style watch: These are the outfits we will be wearing this coming spring

Need some outfit inspiration for spring? Here are the best outfits to recreate once winter decides to leave

It may only be the early days of February but we are planning our spring wardrobe to even the most minute of details.

If you love fashion then you will love the reprieve spring gives from the dark dreary nature of winter. The coats are lighter and brighter; the tights slowly pushed to the back of the drawer and everything is just more joyous.

Street style is a fantastic way to get a gauge of the trends coming down the line. Some of the biggest stars of fashion weeks seem to know what’s trending before the designers do and they are exactly who we are looking towards for inspiration.

Here are the outfits we will most certainly be recreating once winter leaves the building.

Trench up

A trench coat makes yearly appearances in capsule wardrobe compilations and this year will be no different. Spring is all about the statement trench in leather and printed effects. Pair yours with an all tonal look.

Colour block

Colour clashing was a significant street style trend at the SS 20 shows. Although scary at first, colour clashing is easier than you think – we have a guide right here. Match your accessories to the clothes like above to celebrate the joy of luminosity even more.

Leather blazer and chunky boots

Leather coats and blazers may remind you of The Matrix but when done right can look extremely chic. We are all well aware of the style hysteria surrounding chunky boots and there are no signs of the appeal dampening. This Prada pair may be too military chic for some so stick to ankle boot style.

Bigger and better

The bigger the sleeve, the better the look. Sizeable sleeves are a trend still burning fiercely and we love to see it. Whether it’s your dresses, shirts or t-shirts; make sure those shoulders and arms are the focal points.

Blank space

All white and cream looks may be synonymous with summer, but this spring make your outfit a blank canvas. Break up the look with patterned shoes and a belt.

The 1970s

If, like us, you sometimes get the urge to dress like you have been transported by the 1970s, then you are in luck this spring. Designers love nostaligia and the prints and shapes of the decade that made us groovy are making themselves known.

The blues

We love our jeans here at IMAGE HQ and this spring we are doing denim in a big way by doubling it up with a matching shirt and keeping jeans flared for maximum fashion kudos.

Suit up

Nothing says power like a good suit. Perfect for the office, a night out on the tiles or for when you want to go for stroll but look like your have you sh*t together. Try a crimson red to make the spring days even brighter and when summer comes around, move to a very on-trend shorts suit.

All of the below

Our dream spring wardrobe summed up in one picture; midi dresses, colours, florals, oversized blazers, chunky and knee-high boots. Picture perfect.
