Model Kate Upton married professional baseball player Justin Verlander in a romantic ceremony in Italy over the weekend. If ever we were thinking of a destination wedding, we’d be taking a leaf/rose petal/piece of confetti out of Upton’s book.
The couple held their ceremony at the Castiglion del Bosco in Siena, Tuscany, and pictures circulated online yesterday show Upton walking down a rose-petal strewn aisle wearing a beautiful full-skirted Valentino gown. And just look at it; in particular the sheer sleeves and embroidered floral details. Her hair was kept classic; loose and wavy beneath a veil. Verlander was dressed in a three-piece tuxedo, as were his ushers, and the bridesmaids wore pink.
Vows were reportedly exchanged at a medieval church sitting atop of a picturesque hill that overlooked the Montalcino valley and it’s as picture-perfect as one would expect of a celebrity wedding:
Reports say that the couple went for a rustic theme that was described as “elegant and romantic.” We patiently await further updates.
Upton first announced her engagement at the Met Gala in May 2016 when she appeared on the red carpet wearing a large diamond engagement ring. US Weekly said Verlander had worked with the jeweller Anita Ko to create a bespoke design for his now wife.
Doesn’t it all look dreamy? Congratulations to the happy couple!
