We see supermodels on the catwalks and the front covers of magazines, but we don’t often get to see where they go home to after a long day. Take a peek at Jourdan Dunn’s newly refurbished west London home.
It will come as no surprise that internationally-renowned British model Jourdan Dunn has a home just as glamorous as her. As the first property that she bought, in west London where she grew up, she was keen for it to reflect her personality and style.
With help from online interior design service My Bespoke Room, she transformed the period property, complete with original features into a modern family home. She created multiple Pinterest boards to give the designers there a real sense of what she wanted to achieve, and the results are a mix of refined finishes with elements of opulence.
We love the drama of dark walls, and this almost-black shade is certainly full of impact. The previously white fireplace was painted to match, so it blends in beautifully, while the colourful cushion and green from the plant provide a bright contrast. The parquet floors are also a nod to the history of the building, while still feeling fresh and modern.
This darker room leads into a bright white living area, with the parquet floors linking the spaces. The deep blue velvet sofa provides texture as well as a hit of colour, and the brass accessories give a luxe feel. We’d also happily just lie on that huge sheepskin rug.
Jourdan is a keen cook, and even has her own YouTube cooking show, so her kitchen was an important space to get right. It had to be functional and practical, as well as stylish. We love the Flos pendant light above the island, and the coordinating yellow stools and armchair (from Swoon Editions) again provide a strong injection of colour into the neutral space.
This kitchen space leads onto this dining area, that looks out onto the garden. It’s full of light, and the pendant light fitting overhead creates a centrepiece for the table and chairs.
