The hottest new dating app

The hottest new dating app

Happn is the dating app with a heart

What with the backlash Tinder has been receiving with its Whitney Wolfe fiasco and the #SwipeStrike in action, it is the perfect moment for another slick dating app to swoop in and go for gold. But the latest development does not come from the boys of Silicon Valley or some nifty London-based start-up. Nope, the news in dating apps comes from gay Paris, with Happn.

Happn, which is already being talked about as ?Tinder backwards?, functions on the same ‘reciprocity? principle as Tinder except that you’ve already met the person! When you meet someone in real life their profile appears on your app, and it logs when you met them and where. Like Tinder, it maintains your privacy, revealing to the desired person that you’ve expressed interest only if they also have expressed interest in you. More than a hook-up or dating tool, this feels like it enhances the spontaneity of an encounter. The app has already got 150,000 users in France, and its motto is ?Find those you’ve crossed paths with.? ?Trust the French to do it better?
