This Edwardian home has an impressive seven bedrooms, as well as a large garden complete with swimming pool and tennis court.

As we continue to be mostly confined to our homes, our thoughts keep wandering to all those lucky people who have facilities like swimming pools and tennis courts to enjoy without having to leave the comfort of their own house.

The residents of Belmont in Foxrock would be some such people, as this impressive home currently on the market boasts both a swimming pool and tennis court. The Edwardian home is set on a 1.14 acre site, so it also has ample garden space to enjoy in the summer months.

With seven bedrooms, this house can accommodate a large family, or numerous guests, and has plenty of original features, including its red brick bay front, sash windows and timber floors. Several extensions that have been added throughout the years are sensitively done, ensuring plenty of space.

Approaching the front door, limestone steps lead into the house, and a very impressive entrance hallway. You are greeted by a sweeping staircase, as well as a working period marble fireplace. There are period fireplaces in several of the ground floor reception rooms, including the dining and living rooms.

The living room is full of light, thanks to windows on two walls, as well as French doors that lead to an outdoor patio. The Norman Pratt conservatory is wonderfully bright, and links the more formal spaces of the house to the more laid back ones to the rear. It also has a door that leads outside to the garden.

With solid ash units, the kitchen features black granite worktops, as well as a solid butcher’s block island and limestone floor. A Fisher and Paykel American Fridge and La Cornue Range with induction, gas and electric options would also be great for keen cooks. There is also a utility room that has a side door leading to the garden.

There are five bedrooms on the first floor, and a further two on the second floor. The master bedroom has an ensuite and there is a large family bathroom on the first floor with a power shower and corner bath, as well as underfloor heating. There is also a laundry room on the first floor complete with sink and airing cupboard.

The large outdoor space has three distinct zones. The first features a raised patio beside the house that looks out over the swimming pool, framed with beds on either side. This area is separated from the tennis court by mature trees, providing shelter. There is also a pavilion beside the tennis court for changing and storage. A large lawn area is also surrounded by mature plants and hedges.

At €3.5 million, this house is certainly on the pricey side, but it would certainly keep the whole family entertained during isolation. Click through our gallery for the full tour.
