The highly anticipated Eurovision film has just released an official trailer and we can’t wait to see it
No one had really heard of the upcoming comedy, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, until a music video with the film’s stars Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams was released last month.
Now, the official trailer has given shape to the film, as it follows Icelandic duo Lars Erickssong (Ferrell) and Sigrit Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams) on their Eurovision journey.
The trailer shows the intro of the Eurovision opening, where the show’s host, Graham Norton, says 42 countries will be competing for an audience of 180 million viewers.
Iceland doesn’t seem thrilled that the singing duo is their representation in the contest, but Erickssong is determined to prove them, and his disappointed father (played by Pierce Brosnan), wrong.
Other stars to appear in the film include Demi Lovato, Jamie Demetriou and Dan Stevens, who plays the brilliant role of Erickssong’s nemesis — the topless Russian popstar Alexander Lemtov.
The movie has all the elements of a classic Ferrell comedy, plus the vocal and acting talents of Rachel McAdams and Wedding Crashers’ director David Dobkin.
The movie debuts on Netflix on June 26. Ferrell co-wrote the film with the former head writer of Saturday Night Live, Andrew Steele, so we know it won’t disappoint.
