Killing Eve was the breakaway success of the television world last year and has amassed a myriad of fans.
Created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the BBC series stars Sandra Oh as Eve Polastri, an MI5 officer who is entrusted to hunt down the ruthless assassin Villanelle who is played by actress Jodie Comer. A cat and mouse game ensues as does a story of obsession, intrigue and drama.
Fans were left on a cliffhanger at the end of season 1 when Eve Polastri stabbed Villanelle, who then flees her Paris apartment. The trailer opens with Eve telling her superiors she is worried she “might have killed her”.
The series has won widespread acclaim from viewers and critics alike. It was named as TIME magazine’s best show of 2018 and became one of the most watched series on the BBC iPlayer. It was also nominated for two Golden Globes with Sandra Oh winning Best Actress in a Television Series Drama for her portrayal of Eve Polastri in the series.
Judging by the reaction on Twitter, fans are nothing short of excited for the return of the show.
Season two of Killing Eve will air on BBC America on April 7, with the UK and Ireland release date yet to be confirmed.
