In his new show, the American actor traverses the globe, seeing how other cultures dine, drink and live sustainably
Actor Zac Efron has surprised fans with his latest project, a travel docuseries coming to Netflix next month.
Titled Down to Earth, the series will follow Efron and wellness expert Darin Olien as they journey around the world, learning about healthy, sustainable ways to live.
The duo travel to places like France, Puerto Rico, Iceland, London, Costa Rica, Lima, Sardinia, and Iquitos to see how different cultures practice energy efficiency in their day to day lives.
“We’re travelling around the world to find some new perspectives on some very old problems,” Efron explains in the show’s trailer.
“Food, water and energy are all the main staples for modern life. We’re going to see some top eco innovators to see how change is an inside job. And we’re going to be eating really, really well.”
The actor hopes it will help educate viewers on sustainability and show how they can help minimise waste at home.
“We need to start rethinking how we consume everything, from our food to our power,” Efron said. “Change has to start somewhere. Maybe it’s about time we all changed. It’s time to get down to earth.”
In the show, Efron and Olien talk to ‘top eco innovators’ to gain insight on how they implemented efficient changes in their communities.
The docuseries premiers on Netflix on July 10. Watch the full trailer below to learn more:
