Canalaphonic returns this weekend, showcasing the best of Irish independent musicians and artists with over 29 live shows taking place across the weekend in Whelan’s and Opium Rooms. The 5th annual public march for choice takes place today, Saturday, March 24th. Crowds will assemble in The Garden of Remembrance at Parnell square at 1:30PM before marching to D?il ?ireann at 2PM. Amending the Constitution Act of 1983 will mean that women in Ireland will be able to decide whether or not they want to continue or terminate a pregnancy. Current laws protect the life of the unborn child but do not protect the mother, even in cases of severe fatal foetal abnormalities where both the child and babies’ lives are in serious danger. On the last Sunday of every month, sellers, buyers, and trinket collectors flock to the Food Co-op at New Market, Dublin 8, for the Dublin Flea Market. Situated in the heart of the city, the market is a great way to sample local produce in a welcoming environment with other like-minded people. There are over 60 stalls each month selling everything from vintage clothes to second-hand bikes, retro furniture, and random odds and ends – pretty much everything you would expect to find at a flea market. The market also neighbours the Teelings Whiskey Distillery, so your thirst can be easily quenched afterwards. The market runs from 11am to 2pm. For more information click here.
