Whether you’re planning a special date-night, a friend’s birthday, or if you just fancy a night on the town; the new wine and dinner offering at the Marker Hotel is a must. The five-star hotel, which is located in Grand Canal Square, is hosting a luxurious evening for wine and food connoisseurs alike.
The evening of 7th November kicks off with a canapé reception on the Rooftop Bar & Terrace, allowing you to take in the city views before retreating to the brasserie. Here, the magic truly begins. The brasserie was recently awarded ‘Best Hotel Restaurant in Dublin’ by the Restaurants Association of Ireland, and it has a sharp focus on locally-sourced produce.
Once seated, you will be presented with a six-course menu, carefully created by the Marker’s executive head chef Gareth Mullins. Featuring an abundance of seasonal produce (including berries which were foraged and fermented in the Marker kitchens), the menu will be delicately paired with a selection of biodynamic and natural wines from Spain, France, South Africa and California.
Each course promises to delight even the most sophisticated of palettes. Indulge in forest mushrooms, elderberries, capers and carrots to start; followed by a second course of turbot, celeriac, blackberries and seashore vegetables.
The third course consists of parsley root, hare and juniper; next, it is time for the main. Savour wild Irish pheasant, potato, crab apple, and savoy cabbage; all the while sipping a glass of Clos Puy Arnaud, Grand Vin Bordeaux, France 2014. Dessert follows, ahead of coffee and petit fours.
What’s more, you will be joined by Mick O’ Connell, master of wine at Findlaters Wines and Spirits, who will share his knowledge of biodynamic and natural wine throughout the night.
