What is Zero Gravity Pilates and why do celebrities love it?

What is Zero Gravity Pilates and why do celebrities love it?

The celebrities of the world are swearing by Zero Gravity Pilates online workouts but what is it and why do they love it so much?

Everyone is talking about Zero Gravity Pilates.

The Britain-based boutique chain of Reformer Pilates studios has reached new heights of popularity in recent weeks, while its co-founder Chris Richardson has been hailed as the “Joe Wicks of Pilates”.

So why the interest?

Well, celebrities such as Rochelle Humes and athlete Dame Kelly Holmes love it. Plus, the virtual weekly subscription costs 99p. In euros that comes to a bargain of €1.10.

The chain is known for its results-driven Reformer Pilates, but the lockdown forced the business to pivot. However, this change has brought them huge success. In a small number of weeks, the company has grown its Instagram following to over 83,000. At the beginning of quarantine, that number was at 36,000.

Ultra Mat

The founders created a 45-minute ‘Pilates Ultra Mat’ that promises to provide the same results as a reformer machine. It’s all about long, lean legs and a strong core and arms.

Not only have they offered these classes through an online subscription, but they have also published Instagram lives with celebs such as Rio Ferdinand for all of the public to enjoy free of charge.

On the Zero Gravity website, the founders explain how Ultra Mat works saying, “Our methods are simple, yet so effective as we isolate the muscle we would like to work, activate it so the muscle is correctly firing up, fatigue the body part by working to a high number of reps, then stretch and elongate the muscle to increase the length and range of movement within the body.

“The result is a balanced body that is equally as strong on your left as your right. The long, lean, toned muscles you create are hugely different to any other form of training you will do. Expect to see results from as early as 14 days with your abdominals toning, waist drawing inwards, legs becoming longer and firmer, posture opening and lengthening the body, and arms toning with ‘lean’ muscle.”

Before and after shots on the official Instagram page seem to confirm that this workout means serious business in only 14 days.

Due to its popularity, Zero Gravity Pilates is creating an app to be released this coming August which will provide on-demand home workouts at the touch of a button.

If it’s good enough for the celebrities then it must be good enough for us, right?
