Some of us absolutely dread getting older; the laughter lines, the sluggish metabolisms, the need to know that we’ve ‘still got it’ as we bust our ‘has been’ moves on a dance floor filled with prepubescents, the list goes on. But the passing of time isn’t all bad, there is one distinct silver lining and it’s now known as ‘Neville Longbottoming’, otherwise known as an unforeseen swan-like transformation that takes hold of very few young men.
Not so long ago it dawned on the world that Calvin Harris had Neville Longbottomed in the most ‘dayum’ of ways*.
Neville Longbottom himself (Matthew Lewis) continues to thrill the masses, as does Jonathan Lipnicki, more so because he’s no longer a large headed baby than the fact that he’s oddly ripped (his head still looks the same, mind).
Josh Peck from Drake and Josh also transformed before our very eyes (you may remember him from your Nickelodeon days), and some suggest Zac Efron didn’t always appear as though he was carved by angels.
One of our all time favourite Neville Longbottomings has to be Nicholas Hoult whose eyes are so piercingly blue, we might actually cry. Jennifer Lawrence, what were you thinking?
New to the this crew is William Moseley who starred as the very cute Peter Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe. Sure, at the time of this movie’s release young teens would have been beside themselves with a case of fan-girl-itis but now grown adults can appreciate his handsome features too. And here we thought getting older was a curse…
(* = when you look at his before and after photos and say, like a good Southern woman, “dayuuuum”. See clip from Magic Mike XXL for demonstration.)
